Overview

For more than 20 years, F·E·G·S has been a leader in creating a continuum of recovery-based housing, from service-enriched community residences and apartments to independent living arrangements with ongoing supports. The goal is to provide a supportive environment that encourages individuals to develop the skills necessary to transition to higher levels of independence as they reintegrate into the community.

F·E·G·S Behavioral Health Residential Programs serve over 700 individuals in Manhattan Brooklyn, the Bronx Queens, and Long Island. Specialized residences also are available for individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or deaf/blind, and who also have a psychiatric illness.

Programs are funded through such state, city, and federal sources as The New York State Office of Mental Health, The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and HUD.
